Smarty Pants Pre-School LLC is committed to raising the bar in early childhood education. We do this by transcending the industry with high quality services, state of the art programs, equipment, and monitoring systems, delivered by educated childcare professionals.

Smarty Pants Pre-School is family owned and operated; we the owners, Anthony and Pauline Serra, have been married twenty five years and have raised four daughters. We both come from large families and were raised with honesty, integrity, faith and devotion to family. Our values and traditions are embedded into the fibers of who we are. To quote a saying from my father Pete Serra "Children of my children and friends are twice my children" We are parents who understand the needs and desires of other parents/guardians. We know the importance of providing a learning environment that will give children the opportunity to thrive physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. We provide a staff rich environment that is warm, nurturing, fun, and safe.

Before opening our doors in August 2007 Smarty Pants Pre-School conducted a comprehensive two year study of daycare centers in the local area. We examined all of the important indicators resulting in the establishment of comparable tuition fees, but that's where the similarities ended.

Using the information learned from our study as objective parents not business entrepreneurs we created our policies and procedures, curriculum, enrichment programs, evaluation procedures, security protocols, emergency procedures, customer services, staff training, facility sanitation and cleanliness, staffing levels, staff credentials, all to be superior. Our pledge to raise the bar in early childhood education is supported by our commitment to attract and keep qualified childcare professionals and to continuously reinvest into the center to keep it state of the art.

We take extreme precaution and uncompromising responsibility when taking children into our care. We want to become your extended family and provide you with the freedom to pursue your adult life with confidence that your children are cared for in a way equivalent to a trustworthy family member. We live in the local area and pledge our reputation on child safety and development. We are dedicated to providing high quality services and will continue to raise the bar in early childhood education.

Uniformed Pre-School
Smarty Pants Pre-School believes there are many reasons to wear uniforms. One is camaraderie. We understand children have different beliefs and cultures. They are individuals learning various family traditions, values, and loyalties. We encourage and nurture this diversity. The uniform is not intended to conceal their individuality; it is intended to create a sense of belonging. Young children sometimes go through separation anxiety; to alleviate this worry an environment must be inviting and trustworthy. Children thrive when they are comfortable. Their confidence is strengthened with consistency, repetition, and familiarity. Wearing the uniform creates a visual insignia and familiarity that eases their apprehension.

Wearing the uniform is mandatory for these reasons as well as security reasons. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to support this policy.

We issue one complete uniform to all children upon payment of registration. We took the initial expense to outfit the children, making it easy for families to comply with this rule.
